WHAT WE DO

HOW WE MEASURE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

FORLIANCE calculates corporate and product carbon footprints in line with the internationally widely used Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards. Our method is grounded in principles of relevance, completeness, consistency, transparency, and accuracy, ensuring each assessment we provide is both valid and comparable.

CORPORATE CARBON FOOTPRINT

Tailored to meet your specific needs and long-term climate commitments, we define with you clear organizational and operational boundaries. We categorize emissions—ranging from direct emissions such as onsite fuel combustion to indirect emissions from activities such as purchased goods or business travel. After collecting essential data, we calculate your emissions to deliver a clear picture of your climate impact

PRODUCT CARBON FOOTPRINT

Together, we determine the product as the reference unit and set the accounting boundaries based on your needs, selecting either a cradle-to-gate or cradle-to-grave approach. This ensures that the carbon footprint assessment aligns with the product's lifecycle and your sustainability objectives.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND TRANSPARENCY IN CARBON ACCOUNTING

We prepare these findings for both internal and external reporting. This detailed process enables effective engagement with relevant stakeholders—employees, customers, investors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. By enhancing transparency and promoting open disclosure, we help to strengthen your commitment to climate action.

At FORLIANCE, we not only facilitate accurate carbon accounting but also support you in developing a holistic corporate climate strategy. While the carbon footprint serves as the basis for thinking about meaningful reduction measures, it allows for the building of emission scenarios, builds the base for science-based targets, and it provides you with essential knowledge of where to start your journey.

What is the method of carbon footprinting?

We use the Greenhouse Gas Protocol as guiding standard to develop and calculate corporate and product carbon footprints.

How do you collect carbon footprint data?

To collect carbon footprint data we use individualized data collection sheets based on previous discussion and the given client’s needs. The client collects the data and provides it to FORLIANCE.

What are the 3 main carbon footprint categories?

We differentiate between

Scope 1 emissions: All emissions that are generated directly within the company.

Scope 2 emissions: All indirect emissions generated for the company’s energy supply (from external sources).

Scope 3 emissions. All other emissions that arise from the company’s activities but are owned or controlled by a third party.

What is the largest source of carbon emissions?

That depends on the type of organization, the sector and other variables. Main emission categories could be purchased goods, transportation & logistics and product use, especially for manufacturing companies.
