European nature-based carbon projects are designed to protect and restore forests and other natural landscapes within Europe. Between 2019 and 2022, Germany lost 497,000 hectares of forest due to storms, drought, bark beetle infestations, and forest fires. This makes the protection and restoration of German and European forests crucial. These projects not only address significant environmental challenges but also provide Europe-based companies the opportunity to invest in local climate action, enhancing their sustainability efforts and contributing to regional environmental stability.
