Afforestation of arid areas, Egypt

About this project

This Public Private Partnership project, conducted on behalf of our client, aimed at the large-scale afforestation of arid areas by irrigation with sewage water. The objective is to generate additional income from wood, wooden biomass, energy crops and carbon trading. Positive environmental impacts are the prevention of desertification and erosion, enhancing soil and water conditions.

The project is a development partnership with Forest Finance Service GmbH and part of the develoPPP.de program, that GIZ implements on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
