TRAINING ON SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY IN VIETNAM

FORLIANCE initiated a pilot project to introduce and establish vocational training on Sustainable Forestry Management (SFM) in the Quang Tri province of Vietnam. This project aimed to address strategic gaps in local forestry practices and prepare forestry managers and workers for FSC certification. Collaborating with local partners like the Ben Hai Forestry Company and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of Quang Tri, we developed a comprehensive training program. 

For our client, we conducted a thorough feasibility study, including due diligence, supply and demand analysis, market potential, competitor analysis, and legal frameworks. The study also detailed financial requirements for land purchase, building construction, machinery, staffing, and certifications, along with a comprehensive risk analysis. We considered various scenarios such as land purchase, leasing systems, and outgrower schemes. Our training program, designed from participant feedback, aimed to close strategic gaps to achieve FSC conformity.
