GROUP CERTIFICATION OF REFORESTATION PROJECT IN COLOMBIA

FORLIANCE played a crucial role in the Vichada Climate Reforestation Project, providing advisory and supervision services for the group certification process under the Gold Standard and FSC. Starting in 2012, we worked closely with involved companies in Vichada, organizing them to achieve streamlined and cost-effective certification for over 70,000 hectares. Our efforts culminated in the first-ever Gold Standard certified group project on afforestation and reforestation worldwide, with FORLIANCE holding the certificate for the group certification. 

Located in the Vichada Department and the Orinoco River basin, the Vichada Climate Reforestation Project combines reforestation for timber production with biodiversity protection. This project spans 73,835 hectares, conserving native vegetation and creating additional conservation areas along riverbanks and watersheds. It focuses on reducing soil erosion, improving water quality, and fostering ecosystem restoration.
