SOIL AND CADMIUM ASSESSMENT ON COCOA CULTIVATION

A leading cocoa producer sourcing high-quality cocoa from smallholder communities near Tarapoto, Peru, encountered high levels of cadmium in their cocoa beans. To comply with upcoming European Union regulations and support sustainable farming practices, they partnered with FORLIANCE to develop a comprehensive solution for reducing cadmium levels in their cocoa supply. 

FORLIANCE provided a multi-phase approach to address the cadmium issue. We began with a detailed site assessment and cadmium evaluation, analyzing cocoa seeds, soil, and leaves from various plots to map cadmium distribution. This included topographic planning, GPS documentation, and laboratory testing to ensure precise and accurate results.
