Carbon emission reduction in mangrove area, Costa Rica

The GIZ BIOMARCC project is responsible for implementing conservation activities along coastal areas of Costa Rica. The expert team of FORLIANCE Consulting assessed ongoing project activities and objectives based on a threat and vulnerability analysis and BIOMARCC priorities. A stakeholder analysis was conducted on site. For further project development a comparison and gap analysis of carbon certification schemes was conducted. The findings served as decision-guidance to which certification schemes should be realized in the project area.
