The XiCO2e project is a comprehensive initiative spanning four regions of Mexico – the Durango, Tamaulipas, and Tabasco states, and the Yucatán Peninsula – with a goal to promote sustainable forest management, enhance carbon sequestration, and empower local communities. The project aims to replant degraded areas with a diverse array of trees and support community forest management through regular training in sustainable resource management.
This project is not just about preserving the forest and biodiversity. It is also about improving the quality of life for the people living in these regions. By providing access to employment opportunities and enabling local people to become stewards of their own land, the project is helping to build a better future for communities across the three regions.
Through this ambitious initiative, the XiCO2e project is setting an inspiring example of what can be achieved when people come together to create positive change for their environment and their communities.
